Barbados, 1855, "Britannia" (1d) pale blue, imperf, uncancelled, L-shaped strip of 4, the bottom right example bisected diagonally, margins almost around, used on part of Mercantile Intelligence bearing partial address Stewart's Hill, St. John's, the stamps are sound except for one lightly creased, the piece bears faults and repairs, Brandon Cert. (2008).

This piece is unique outside the example in the Royal Collection (single, bisected),with documentation from Buckingham Palace, which is on an equal sized piece of newspaper bearing the same address and very similar, if not the same, handwriting. The only other bisect from this early period is an example of the grayish slate on cover from the Charlton-Henry, Amundsen and Cartier collections.
